Terms of Service

Hosto is a prototype service that answers a business's messages automatically. Using it means accepting what follows.

What the service does

A business connects its Instagram or Facebook Page account, enters its prices, hours, and policies, and switches on replies. Incoming direct messages are then answered by an AI assistant using only that information. A business can pause replies at any time, and staff can take over any conversation.

Answers are generated, not guaranteed

The assistant is a language model working from what the business provided. It can be wrong, and it can be confidently wrong. Prices, availability, allergen information, and anything else that matters should be confirmed with the business directly. Hosto is not liable for decisions made on the basis of a generated reply, and a reply is not a binding offer by the business.

The business's responsibilities

  • Keep the information the assistant answers from accurate and current.
  • Connect only accounts you are authorised to operate.
  • Monitor conversations — an automated reply does not remove your duty to your customers.
  • Comply with Meta's platform policies, which govern the messaging you are using.

Acceptable use

Do not use the service to send unsolicited bulk messages, to impersonate anyone, or to handle payment card details, health information, or other sensitive categories of data. Accounts doing so will be disconnected.

Deleting your data

To have everything we hold about you deleted, email npaulp@proton.me from the address associated with your account, or remove the app in your Instagram or Facebook settings. Removal sends us an automatic instruction, and we act on it without further action from you.

Deletion covers the conversations and messages tied to your account, and the stored access token. Aggregate operational logs that contain no message content may persist until they rotate.

This is a prototype. It is offered as-is, with no uptime commitment, and it may change or stop without notice.
